Data quality improvement.

The following data quality improvement work will be performed by LDS by matching the data supplied to our reference database of spare parts information:

  • Extract and/or standardize the manufacturer name into a separate manufacturer name field
  • Extract and/or standardize the manufacturer’s part number into a separate manufacturer part-number field
  • Identify suspected duplicates based on manufacturer name and part number
  • Map base units of measure to a common standard
  • High-level allocation of spares into functional categories
  • Provision of attributed data from the reference catalogue
  • Noun extraction and categorising to UNSPSC

The customer will be presented with the cleaned data in the Standardise web application that will allow your staff to review and approve/reject/improve the matches as necessary. Our team will liaise with your staff to investigate data inconsistencies and resolve issues.

The data quality process will be subject to a continuous improvement process as the LDS reference database is expanded and improved, all of which will be reflected in the customer-matched data.
